Get those links working

In our last step we added some anchor tags, with attributes like href="#bio". In order for those links to go somewhere, we need to add ids to our page. If you remember each HTML element can only have one id, and each id on our page must be unique

Let’s open up profile.html and add some ids to our section tags.

<section id="bio">
    <h2>Bio</h2>
    <p>
      Goat goose hen horse. Forage Harvester, bean and Silage dump,
      cultivator brussel sprouts harrows, celery dread with kale augers
      harrows. Augers oats hen cowpies. Garden windmill chicks, hen at corn in,
      lettus a peppers. Rooster celery pineapples fertilizer, a melon chirp
      pets in. Sage mower goat, raccoons rhubarb outhouse a, apples berries corn.
      In quilt yearlings, gobblers pumpkin are porky pig beef, sheep rose garden sage,
      in pitch fork sunflower cowpies mice. Turkey daisys eggs squeal.
    </p>
</section>

Then, we’ll give our skills section an id of ‘skills’.

<section id="skills">
    <h2>Skills</h2>
    <ul>
      <li>Excellent floating skills</li>
      <li>Expert Quacker</li>
      <li>Strong Floating Skills</li>
      <li>Good listener</li>
      <li>HTML &amp; CSS Superfan</li>
    </ul>
</section>

Our quirky fact section an id of ‘quirky_fact’

<section id="quirky_fact">
    <h2>Quirky Fact</h2>
    <p>And purr ducks canning owls at a squeal.</p>
</section>

Give the superpower section an id of ‘superpower’.

<section id="superpower">
  <h2>Superpower</h2>
  <p>Quack hammers eggplant is utters nails garden.</p>
</section>

Give profile.html a save and refresh. You’ll notice that now when you click on a link in your sidebar, the page will take you to that section.
